Online Training

If shift work, distance, timing or any other issues are preventing you from being able to train your employees, or yourself, in the latest health and safety courses, then SASM is the solution. SASM offers a number of continually expanding online courses that enable learners to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule from any computer, laptop or tablet that can access the internet.

The online courses are an excellent “return to work/function” activity for workers.

Enrollment

  • Once enrolled, the learners have access to the course 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
  • Participants must meet the mandatory 80% class performance standard on a written exam.  If not initially successful, the learner can re-write the course once without re-registering.
  • Upon successful completion a certificate, and wallet card where appropriate, will be accessible to the student.

Lunch and Learn (Short Courses)

SASM currently offers a variety of short Lunch and Learn courses that include Violence and Harassment in the Workplace, Ergonomic Signs and Symptoms, Hand Safety, Eye Safety, and Back Safety, which speak directly to issues within the workplace. The Lunch and Learn courses are based on legislation, WCB injury statistics and on individual requests from Members.

If your organization has a specific subject in mind that we do not already have available, SASM can, in conjunction with your company, develop a course within four (4) to six (6) weeks that meets your organization’s requirements.

ACCULIFT

SASM is an excellent association that provides a GO-TO for Saskatchewan manufacturers concerned with safety and progress. Acculift is dedicated to creating safe and productive workplaces so I highly recommend manufacturing companies in Saskatchewan consider the consultancy services SASM offers. A new set of eyes always helps and an educated consultant from SASM can help increase production efficiency while keeping your workers safe!

Mark Logan

HIGHLINE MANUFACTURING LTD.

The ear fit testing was a huge success for our production staff at Highline. Fourty percent of our employees did not pass the testing the first time around due to not using the hearing protection properly. After being trained in how to properly insert the provided protection all members had a successful result. It was a great opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of using PPE properly and showed each employee what they were getting for protection in an easy to understand format. Combined with our audiometric testing all of our employees now know the risks they are facing, have confidence in the PPE that we are providing, and understand that as an employer we are showing our due diligence in ensuring that our employees are important to us and that all of us have a part to play in being safe and minimizing risks.

Dan Sembalerus

GREAT WESTERN BREWING COMPANY

As we know, in the safety industry you always look at trends and here at the Great Western Brewing Company our trend was not looking so good.  We had realized that although we were having one bad year compared to years of good trending, it proved that our whole Safety Management System (SMS) needed to be reviewed.  I started looking at Safety Associations to help us get to where we needed to be and after looking at a few of them we chose SASM.

Working with the professionals at SASM was the wise choice, they came in and completed a gap analysis and had a list of recommendations and actions.  From that gap audit we knew we needed some additional help to achieve our goal of Certification and decided to use the Rental Advisor service that SASM offered.

The Rental Advisors at SASM really know their stuff and what would have taken us a very long time, took months.  The Advisor worked closely with all of our employees throughout the facility, they listened closely to what we did here at the brewery, then the Advisor would take the information and then work with the whole team to finalize.

I can’t give the Rental Advisor Program enough credit, the professionalism, their knowledge, their ability to work with everyone made us successful in our Bronze Certification.  The work the Advisor completed for us was top notch and will be used to achieve our next step of Silver Certification in a few years.

The Rental Advisor Program is highly recommended if you need some outside resources to assist you in any manner in your safety program.
